DJ / PRODUCER\t@ MINI DA MINX

Mini Da Minx is an international DJ, producer, and advocate for women in electronic music, with over 22 years of experience performing across the UK and globally. Known for her high-energy Electro, Bass House, and Breakbeat sets driven by dirty basslines and rave culture roots, she has played major festivals and venues including Glastonbury, Burning Man, Boomtown Fair, Ministry of Sound, and Beatherder. Originally from the Czech Republic and shaped by the Cape Town breaks scene, Minxy has become a respected figure within underground dance music culture.

Alongside her DJ career, Mini Da Minx is increasingly recognised for her work championing women and parents in music through industry panels and community initiatives, including the Motherhood & DJing and Parenting in Music conversations at BMC. Passionate about inclusivity, representation, and creating supportive spaces within dance music, she continues to bridge performance, advocacy, and community-building across the electronic music industry.

SPEAKER TOPIC

MIXING KIDS & MUSIC: CAN PARENTS THRIVE (NOT JUST SURVIVE) IN DANCE MUSIC?

Following the success of the Motherhood & DJing panel, this next chapter at BMC expands the conversation to parenting in the music industry. Bringing both female and male perspectives into focus. Moderated by Mini Da Minx, the panel features DJ Shanaz, Just Her, Phil Hartnoll and Shillin’, who will explore the realities of raising children while sustaining careers in the fast-paced world of dance music; from touring schedules and late nights to identity, balance, and evolving priorities.

Through honest and engaging discussion, the panelists will share their lived experiences of navigating parenthood alongside creative careers, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities that come with it. Together, they’ll tackle a vital question: can parents truly thrive in this industry... not just survive? This session aims to inspire, open dialogue, and help shape a more supportive and inclusive future for parents across the music scene.
